3-year-old Children Are Often Angry?
My child is 3 years and 8 months old, since he was a child he always shows strange expressions when he sees objects or toys that attract his attention, his eyes bulging, his mouth gaping as he trembles, sometimes his hands become clenched, like someone who wants to exert energy in that. I always made him realize that movements like that are not good, unsightly. I think this will disappear over time, but it’s been so many years. What should I do? Thank you.
Hello Ms. Reni, thank you for asking to HealthReplies.com.
Infants and children can express things differently from adults. Initially maybe he was imitating from the surroundings, or as an expression that he found funny. Or it could be that children do an action that is prohibited because they want to seek attention. Often this habit will disappear by itself and is not something to worry about.
Even so, there are certain movements that are not normal. Examples are tic or Tourette's syndrome, convulsions and other unconscious movements. To be sure, you should consult your pediatrician. You can document it in advance with a video if it only appears at certain times, to facilitate the pediatrician if the consultation does not appear. Also explain the triggers. If necessary, the pediatrician will recommend you to a pediatrician consultant for a pediatric neurologist for further examination.
