8 Month Old Baby Often Has Fever?
Why is it that once a week my child must have a fever? My baby is now 8 months old, last week he was hospitalized for 4 days due to a respiratory infection. I wonder why in a month my baby must have a fever 3/4 times
Fever in babies can be caused by various things, for example:
viral or bacterial infections, eg respiratory infections, gastrointestinal infections
Babies who lack fluids, or hot weather, can also cause an increase in the baby's body temperature.
Fever in infants occurs when measurements using a thermometer reach a body temperature of 38 degrees Celsius or more.
Try to keep living a healthy lifestyle
provide good nutrition for babies
cook food until cooked
make sure that the baby gets enough fluids, for example through breast milk or formula, water
keep the environment clean, including the cleanliness of cutlery and play utensils that babies often use
create a comfortable room temperature for the baby
baby should not use clothes or blankets that are too thick
Paracetamol medicine or warm compresses can be given to help relieve the fever that arises
When your baby's temperature rises, measure it using a thermometer, not just by hand.
To find out more about the baby's health condition, it is advisable to consult a doctor. So that a direct physical examination can be carried out, including the length and weight of the baby, and if necessary, additional tests such as blood tests, urine tests, or X-rays can be carried out. Appropriate treatment steps will be given according to the underlying medical cause.
