A 3 Month Old Baby Falls Out Of Bed But Doesn’t Cry, Does It Need To Be Taken To The Hospital?
, my 3 month old baby fell from the bed but did not cry, I checked there were no bruises and there was nothing strange in my baby, the position fell on his stomach (the height of the bed was only about 20cm only and underneath there was a carpet), what should be brought to hospital or not? Thank you
Thank you for the question on HealthReplies.com,
Infants who fall out of bed can cause anxiety because the baby will not be able to express the complaints experienced specifically. Some things to note after your child falls are:
Your baby's state of consciousness. If your child appears to cry strongly the baby's awareness and breathing ability are still good.
Look for areas of impact / bruising on your baby's entire body.
Look for open wounds or changes in your baby's bone structure.
If there is a collision on the head, immediately take your baby to the doctor or emergency department for a close observation of your baby's awareness.
In this condition it is necessary to know when the fall incident happened to your baby, if the baby's awareness is still good with the condition and the distance falls is relatively small and looks safe then you can calm down for a while. But it is advisable to continue to exercise control to the doctor to be able to be examined and managed according to the condition of your child. Observe your child's awareness of the condition, if you appear to be inactive or suddenly silent, or the appearance of a lump in the enlarged head area, the child looks constantly fussy without a clear cause, can bring your child to see a doctor or pediatrician or unit specialist the nearest emergency department for handling your child.
