A 6-month-old Baby Has Diarrhea When The Mother Fasts?
At night, my baby is 6 months old, and only a few weeks started Mpasi. Currently I am fasting Ramadan while still giving breast milk to my baby. When I fasted day 2, my baby experienced vomiting as much as 3x, diarrhea as much as 3x (with time to pause / not continuously), fussy, and did not want to eat. Is this influenced because I fast? And can I still continue my fast by keeping an eye on the baby’s condition? Please respond, thank you.
Fasting does not cause bati to become diarrhea. Diarrhea in infants can be caused due to the following factors:
Food allergies and milk allergies Lactose intolerance Food poisoning Infection in the digestion Side effects of some drugs If the baby has diarrhea, you can do the following tips:
Continue breastfeeding so that the baby does not dehydrate Give ORS if necessary Give MP ASI and make sure the material is sterile and treated thoroughly Wash your hands before you prepare MP ASI Watch for any food triggers that cause diarrhea Pay attention to signs of dehydration: sunken eyes, fatigue, laziness to drink, cry no tears, no urinating, cold hands, restlessness or fuss If there are signs of dehydration or blood mucus in the baby's stool, your baby should be immediately consulted by a doctor so that further examination can be done to ensure his condition and so that your child can be given further treatment more leverage. Handling of diarrhea in children including replacement of fluids, zinc, probiotics, and antibiotics are only given if there is an infection. Avoid giving diarrhea medicine to babies without doctor's advice.
Hope it helps you,
