A Feeling Of Heaviness, Pain, Swelling, And Bruising On The Eyelids?
Sorry, permission to ask. At first it was during the activity last night that the left eyelid felt heavy and sore. I let it and it was a little better. In the morning that last night the pain became reddish (pink). Why is that? Is it a specific symptom or what?
Thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.
It needs to be clarified beforehand, did you experience injury to your eye before this complaint appeared?
The feeling of heaviness, pain, swelling, and bruising on the eyelids may result from blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelids). This condition usually occurs related to eyelid skin infections (for example due to bacteria) or also other skin inflammation, for example seborrheic dermatitis, rosacea, and so on. Blefaritis can attack one or both eyelids at once and cause very disturbing complaints.
It is also possible that your complaint arises due to other causes, for example:
Post-eyelid injury, causing edema (interstitial fluid seepage) or hematoma (blood clot under the skin)
Contact dermatitis (skin inflammation due to contact with an allergen or irritant)
Hordeolum (stye, inflammation of the gland in the eyelid)
Preseptal cellulitis (infection of the soft tissue around the eye)
Tumors, and so on
If your eye condition is currently getting better, you can try the following measures as initial treatment:
Lie down with your eyes elevated
Compress the eyes with warm water, press gently
Rest your eyes, that is, by not staring at your gadget for too long and protecting it from pollution and other impurities
Avoid eye contact with excessive cosmetics or other irritating substances
If the eye feels uncomfortable, you can first drop artificial tears
If the pain is severe enough, you can take paracetamol first
However, if the complaint worsens and really bothers you, you should check with your doctor immediately so that it can be handled further.
I hope this helps.
