Good morning, I have a question about the lump that appears on the roof of my mouth. About 6 months ago this lump appeared but it was small and the texture was also a bit hard, but about 1 month ago my teeth felt a terrible pain when I touched the water even when I was breathing through my mouth and since then the lump was in my mouth. so enlarged and soft. Isn’t that dangerous? Could it be related to the polyps in my nose? Because I also have nasal polyps which are quite bad. Thank you

Hi,

A lump that appears on the roof of the mouth may be caused by thrush or it may be caused by other things such as:

mucocele are small cysts that can also become enlarged due to blockage of saliva
herpes is a viral infection caused by varicella zoster, the symptoms of which are lumps filled with fluid
fibroma is a lump that is formed from connective tissue as a result of trauma
tumor
oral cancer

To determine the exact cause, you should check with a dentist and mouth specialist or an ENT specialist, so that a direct examination can be done and can determine the cause. Nasal polyps are not associated with the lump on the roof of the mouth due to their different location. Nasal polyps usually cause symptoms of nasal congestion, a lump in the nasal cavity that is not attached. Teeth feel sore also need to be checked if there are:

cavities
swollen gums
sprue

Or is it due to other causes. Here are the things you need to pay attention to:

maintain oral hygiene
brush your teeth at least 2x a day
don't forget to brush your teeth before going to bed
avoid squeezing or touching the bumps frequently
avoid foods that are too hot or too cold

following articles you can read canker sores, oral cancer, mouth lumps

hopefully useful, thank you
