A Red Rash On The Genitals And Stomach Of A 10-year-old Child?
Good night, I have a 10 year old sister. Initially a red rash appeared on the lower abdomen of my sister’s navel to her genitals, but after a few days the rash became like a blister my sister felt itchy and slightly sore from her rash. After being taken to the hospital the doctor said the rash was caused by a virus (but not mentioned) and then given a drug concoction and afucid ointment. Now the rashes on the genitals have started to dry and peel but on the abdomen the rash turns black or something affected? Then what is the right handling for my sister? Thank you very much doctor
Good morning, thanks for the question to HealthReplies.com.
Complaints of red rashes in the lower abdomen belly button, such as blisters, itching and burning, then now there is a black rash can be caused by several things, smallpox infection, herpes virus infection and bacterial infection caused by a viral infection in the skin that cleanliness is not maintained.
For black-colored skin, it is generally caused by the healing process of the skin, giving rise to a blackish skin color called hyperpigmentation after inflammation. Other causes of blackish skin is because there are dead skins and will be replaced with new skin. The process of healing wounds on the skin itself requires time that varies in each person depending on the type of food consumed, the type of skin owned and several other factors. Generally it lasts around 1-6 months. But in some people too, blackness can last a lifetime because it has a different skin type. For further explanation and examination, you should consult a dermatologist. The dermatologist will provide more appropriate treatment, such as anti-inflammatory ointments or antibiotic ointments if needed.
Prevention that can be done includes:
-compress with clean water that comes from running water, compress in the black, 2x a day after bathing
- maintain personal hygiene and the environment, especially to prevent the entry of bacteria from the skin that has experienced a viral infection before
-Consume a lot of protein like eggs, fish, meat to accelerate wound healing
