A White Object Under The Tongue Of An 18 Month Old Child?
Hello doc … I am the mother of a baby who was 18 months. Three days ago my child had a fever, at first I thought I would definitely grow more teeth. And yesterday I saw a white grain under the tongue. after I saw it again, it was teeth, when I touched the posture it was soft like plastic
Hello Siska Susilo,
Teeth grow on gums or gingiva only. White things such as stones under the tongue can be caused by sialolithiasis or stones in the salivary glands. The main complaints are swelling and pain in the area. Usually there will be more pain when eating because salivary production in the glands will increase while the tip is blocked by the stone.
Risk factors for the formation of stones in the salivary glands are:
Dehydration or lack of fluid Abnormalities of calcium metabolism Impaired salivary acid balance due to infection in the mouth area Slow salivary flow The diagnosis of sialolithiasis is by physical examination and X-ray examination. For handling small stones that can come out with massage, giving acidic food to stimulate the production of large amounts of saliva to push the stone out, or through surgical procedures by making small incisions to remove stones.
If the complaint of white objects such as teeth does not go away by itself, you should take your child to see a doctor. Thus the explanation from me, may be useful.
