Upper right abdominal pain is more prone to occur in pregnant women. This pain usually appears related to hormonal changes during pregnancy and also an increase in stomach acid (dyspepsia) which is triggered by an increase in pregnancy hormone (beta chorionic gonadotropin) as well as the effects of gastric suppression by the developing content. If you have had a miscarriage, your hormonal condition will also recover so that this pain should be better. But indeed, recovery time after a miscarriage can take place more slowly due to being influenced by many factors, including mental condition, activities undertaken, endurance, and so forth.
In addition to conditions related to pregnancy, pain in the upper right abdomen can also occur due to other causes, for example:
Indigestion, such as gastritis, peptic ulcer, cholangitis, pancreatitis, hepatitis, intolerance, malabsorption
Disorders of muscles, joints and supporting tissues, such as rheumatoid arthritis, nerve nerves, fibromyalgia
Pulmonary disorders, such as pneumonia, bronchitis, pleurisy
Others, such as psychosomatic disorders, heart disorders, skin infections around the upper abdomen, and so on
If the pain that appears intense enough, or accompanied by other complaints, such as fever, vomiting, coughing, shortness, bowel obstruction, and so on, you better check yourself back to the doctor. That way, the doctor can give you the best treatment according to the cause of your complaint. Meanwhile, for the pain to subside, you should get used to eating regularly. Reduce foods that are prone to irritate the digestive tract, for example spicy, sour, fried foods, fatty foods, as well as foods that contain lots of gas. Drink plenty of warm water so that the metabolism runs more smoothly. Always wear comfortable clothes, also exercise diligently so that your weight is maintained. Finally, you can compress the painful abdominal area with warm water to reduce the pain.
The ideal time to get pregnant again after a miscarriage is usually after passing through 3 menstrual cycles, or more. In this time span, it is expected that the condition of your reproductive organs as well as your hormonal condition has recovered and is ready to contain a new fetus. However, this time frame is certainly not standard. Depending on the causes and complications you experience after a miscarriage, this time frame can be shorter or even longer. Obstetricians who examine you naturally understand better. Therefore, do not hesitate to consult directly with your obstetrician.
I hope this helps.
