Hdllo dr, I have an excdent and wound on my leg .. my leg has holes in it..after a month it’s still not beautiful n the circle with holes looks big, swollen feet? What do I need to do?
The process of wound healing varies greatly, healing is strongly influenced by the type of wound, wound therapy and care that has been given and the patient's condition which may affect the wound healing process such as uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, arterial disease, previously carried skin disorders, a history of skin allergies.
It is difficult to determine how your wound is at this time, if the doctor does not do a direct physical examination.
The wound that appears to get bigger, swollen with redness around the wound, pus appears, severe pain is felt especially in the area of the wound, and may be accompanied by fever are signs of wound infection.
So you should consult directly with the doctor to determine whether the wound has an infection that requires further medical treatment. Your doctor may prescribe drug therapy that needs to be taken for a certain period of time, instruct you on how to treat the wound at home and give you a special topical wound medication.
While at home, carry out wound care instructions as directed by your Doctor. Remember to always wash your hands with soap and clean water before and after treating wounds. After cleaning the wound, dry it by gently patting the area with sterile gauze / a clean washcloth (change the towel every time you clean the wound).
