Acne In Infants Aged 6 Weeks?
Hello, I’m a 25-year-old mother, my child is 6 weeks old and the hands and chest appear like pimples. Is that normal? thanks.
Thank you for the question on HealthReplies.com,
Red spots can be accompanied by a rash which is normal in children or babies. Most rashes and red spots are generally harmless and can heal on their own. Baby's skin is generally sensitive to foreign objects and exposure to weather so that it can cause rashes or reddish spots on the skin area.
The reddish spot condition can be caused by several possibilities, including eczema (atopic dermatitis), diaper rash, hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD), hives / urticaria, viral infections of the skin layers, bacterial infections, fungal infections, parasitic infections, milia.
Generally acne in infants can disappear by itself, but it is still advisable to consult a pediatrician regarding further examination and management related to your child's condition. An examination is needed so that optimal management can be determined for your child's condition.
It is not recommended to provide self-medication for your child without doctor's instructions, maintain cleanliness by regularly bathing the baby and changing diapers if the baby has urinated / defecated, maintaining the cleanliness of the crib and playing environment.
Hopefully this information can help you,
