Acne On The Scalp?
Hi, I have the same problem with my scalp. So on my head it feels like if I rub the skin with my hands there are small bumps that look like big pimples (because I have acne on my face). Then if I brush sometimes I accidentally hit the ‘pimple’ part, so there is a stinging feeling. I shampoo every 2 days with a Headu0026Shoulder shampoo that suits me, and I spend more time in the air-conditioned room every day. I don’t use any products for the head except shampoo and rarely do I sweat a lot on my head. What do you think this ‘pimple’ is and what causes it? Please help, thank you.
First of all, I want to thank you for asking questions on HealthReplies.com. I will try to help answer your question,
The scalp is the part of the head that has characteristics and problems such as facial skin. Therefore, there are many causes that can cause acne naturally on the scalp. There are several things that can cause acne on your scalp, namely,
1. Seborrheic dermatitis.
2. Tinea capitis or the presence of a fungus on your scalp
3. Skin diseases caused by auto immune processes or psoriasis
4. Reaction to allergies
5. Prickly heat
However, of course, it is very difficult for us to determine the exact cause of the complaint you are experiencing without a direct examination. Therefore, it is best if you consult a dermatologist directly. The doctor will usually carry out an examination which includes a medical interview, physical examination and supporting examinations such as a scraping test on your skin.
Here are some tips that you can apply to reduce symptoms,
1. Avoid scratching the itchy scalp area
2. Avoid popping pimples on your scalp
3. Wash regularly and rinse thoroughly
4. Use a shampoo containing selenium sulphide or salicylic acid
