Addressing 4-month-old Babies Who Have Left The Polio Vaccine?
Noon I want to ask this day, my son must have injected DPT 2 polio 3 … but my ankle can only get DPT 2 just polio 3 blum … Whereas the next month I have to get DPT 3 polio 4 and IPV. The question is how about polio 3, what’s next month with the DPT 3, polio 4 and IPV or not. My child is now 4 months old
Tonight Mohammad Rian, thank you for the question.
First of all I want to set the polio vaccination straight. Based on the immunization schedule issued by the Indonesian Pediatric Association (IDAI) in 2017 which is still used as an immunization guide, polio vaccination is carried out 5 times with the following counts and schedules:
The 0th polio vaccination is done immediately after birth to a maximum at the age of 1 month
The 1st polio vaccination is done when the child is 2 months old
The second polio vaccination is done when the child is 3 months old
The 3rd polio vaccination is done when the child is 4 months old
The 4th polio vaccination is done at the age of 18 months as a booster vaccination (to help increase endurance that has been formed)
Notes on polio vaccination: Inactivated Polio Vaccine vaccine is given at least once with the 3rd polio vaccination
Based on your statement above, it is likely that your child is now getting a second polio vaccination, and will get a 3rd polio vaccination along with an IPV injection.
However, to ascertain whether immunizations given to your child, especially the problem of polio vaccination as you have asked are in accordance with the recommended immunization schedule or not, you should consult further with your pediatrician or with a doctor who immunizes your child, include also record your child's immunizations when consulted. If there really is a missed or late immunization schedule, the doctor will decide whether the immunization can be given at the same time as your child's immunization schedule next month or there is another special schedule for the pursuit of immunizations left behind.
I hope this helps.
