Administration Of Mpasi To Children Aged 6 Months?
hello doctor. My pediatrician has started surgery since 2 weeks ago. I give food at the age of 6 months. He eats deliciously and never fuss and I give a 4 * menu that is interesting and in accordance with the recommended portion. 3x day with morning and evening menu 4 * noon pure fruit. Even though it’s already packed but he still often asks for nenen. OK? I was afraid he was stuffed because I saw his stomach was very distended. He also defecates 2-3 days.
Good evening, thanks for the question
Before starting MPASI babies generally get breast milk as their main intake 6-8 times per day or suckle every 2-3 hours. This also applies when starting MPASI by giving food at least 6 times per day.
The portion of food 6 times per day is divided into 3 main meals and 3 times snacks (for example breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack). At the age of 6 months 2 weeks it is generally given 3 meals (2 main meals and 1 snack) and the remaining 3 times to suckle. For example you arrange for morning feeding after waking up, then snack, then lunch, then suckle, then dinner, and finally suckle before going to sleep.
Entering the age of 7 months starting with 4 meals (2 main meals and 2 snacks) then the remaining 2 times breastfeeding, and so on until the age of 1 year the baby can already be given 6 meals where ASI has been greatly reduced and can be given occasionally after snack .
Why is that because after 1 year of age ASI only meets the caloric needs of children by only 40% while the rest must be obtained by children from MPASI to support its growth.
Do not worry because the child's digestive tract has developed a lot since after birth. As long as the child does not appear sick, regular bowel and bladder, and weight rises in the normal range, the mother does not need to worry too much.
That's all, hope you can help
