Adverse Effects Of Staying Up On Elementary School Students Until High School?
I want to ask, starting from the age of 12 years or rather the grade 6 sd I often stay up staying sleep only 6 hours a day, even when it’s 2smp class my night habits get worse starting to only sleep 5 hours a day even up to 3 hours the habits continue until I grade 3 high school can this habit hinder my growth drastically? and what other impact do I get?
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
School-age children (6-13 years) are recommended to sleep 9-11 hours each day. Teenagers aged 14-17 years are recommended to sleep 8-10 hours every day. Adults aged 18 years and over are recommended to sleep 7-9 hours every day.
The following are some of the effects that can occur from lack of sleep:
mood disorders and become more irritable
feeling tired and excess sleepiness during the day
difficulty learning new things and easily forgetting
the risk of obesity (overweight), hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases will increase
decreased immune system so it becomes more easily sick
The effects of sleep deprivation above will be more felt in children and adolescents. In children and adolescents, lack of sleep can also lead to suboptimal height growth because growth hormones are released more while the child is sleeping.
Even though the impact of sleep deprivation on your height may not be able to be improved anymore (considering you are past your height growth age), but you should continue to improve your sleep patterns as soon as possible to avoid the long-term effects of sleep deprivation. If you experience certain sleep disorders, consult your doctor for further evaluation.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
