After Circumcision, Babies Aged 8 Months Are Difficult To Get BAK?
My baby, 8 months old, took UTI then the pediatrician put it in for circumcision and after being circumcised, the difference in 4 days was smooth, but why when the scar was dry, he had difficulty with urinating again, like in the circle of the incision, his penis was swollen, was normal or not , and because I was panicked I took it back to the ugd then the nurse cleaned the area of the penis which was covered by the residual wound, then it went away, but the next day I recurred what I had to do
Hello good morning Inna.
Circumcision (circumcision) is a surgical procedure to remove the foreskin from the head of the penis. In cases where no abnormality occurs, circumcision is usually performed electively, but if there are certain medical conditions, such as phimosis (a condition where the foreskin is tightly attached to the head of the penis so that it cannot be pulled back over the head of the penis), paraphimosis (a condition in which the foreskin cannot return to its original position after being pulled for a long time), recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs), etc., circumcision is usually considered to be done immediately.
In the conditions experienced by your child, complaints of difficult BAK after circumcision can be caused by:
there is dirt from the surgery scar that clogs the urinary tract
there is an infection in the area of the surgical wound
there is inflammation or swelling in the area of the surgical wound so that the urinary tract becomes closed
It is recommended that you immediately return to the doctor (preferably the doctor who previously treated your child) to check your child's condition. The doctor will carefully examine the area of the surgical wound to consider possible causes of the complaint. If it is proven that there is an infection in the area of the operation wound, the doctor will usually give antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, or pain medication. If, at the time of the examination, it is found that your child's bladder is so full that it is tense as a result of not being able to BAK, then the doctor may perform a temporary insertion of a urinary tube, or other procedure to remove urine through the stomach.
Here are some ways to treat surgical scars at home:
change wound dressings every day
clean the wound with intravenous fluids rubbed with gauze, then apply anibiotic ointment to the area around the surgical wound
avoid wounds exposed to urine
That's all, hope it helps.
Greetings, dr. Denisa
