After The Blood Curette Didn’t Come Out And The Testpack Result Was Still Positive?
at night I shevira wanted to ask yesterday February 1, 2018 I had a curettage and after the curettage the blood didn’t come out at all after my test peck was still line two (positive) is the sign that I’m still pregnant or what? Please help with the explanation.
Hello Shevira, thanks for your question
In principle, the testpack device works to detect pregnancy by ensuring the presence of the hormone beta-hCG in the urine. The hormone beta-hCG is a hormone produced by the fertilized egg after it attaches to the uterine wall. This hormone can be found in the blood or urine. After a woman miscarries, with or without curettage, these hormones do not become negative immediately. Generally there will be a decrease in beta-hCG hormone levels slowly within 2-3 weeks.
Given that you have recently undergone a curettage, it is likely that the testpack still gives a positive interpretation. No need to panic, you can check back 3 weeks later. If the results of the test pack still give positive results (two lines appear, no matter how faint the additional lines are), then it is better to consult again with the obstetrician who treats you. The doctor will re-evaluate the condition of your womb, for example, to make sure there is no remaining tissue left in the uterus.
I hope this information is useful
