Allow Infants Aged 3 Months When Exposed To The Rash To Do DPT Immunization?
Assalammualaikum., Healthy ?, If a child who is only 3 months 2 weeks of treatment is exposed to a rash due to cow’s milk allergy taken by nursing mothers, is it permissible to undergo the immunization process DP HB HB 3 (POLIO 3) ..
Hello Agung Anggara,
According to the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDAI), patients with eczema, asthma and colds may be immunized but must be more careful if the child has an egg allergy. Some types of vaccines such as influenza vaccine, Q fever and yellow fever contain egg substance so that patients with a history of anaphylactic against eggs should not be given all three types of vaccine (contra indications).
Whereas in infants who are planning a vaccine and are experiencing cow's milk allergy, there are some special notes that need to be known. Some types of vaccines contain milk protein to keep the virus components contained in the vaccine from being degraded or broken / damaged. Examples of vaccines that contain components of cow's milk protein include, OPV, DTP. DT, DTaP and PCV-13.
Therefore in patients with high potential for allergies, the doctor needs to do a physical examination directly. If within 60 minutes after the vaccine is given, the child is silent / does not show any allergic symptoms, the patient may be discharged. If the conditions in which you have your child are examined there are supporting facilities such as poor testing, so it would be better if the patient did the test.
For that, take it to the pediatrician to be examined carefully first. if your child's condition allows it, the examining doctor will give you the vaccine. or vice versa if your baby's condition (based on direct examination) still cannot be given a vaccine, then parents will be advised to come back at the specified time.
so hopefully useful
