Allow Intercourse When IUD Never Controls?
I installed the IUD on November 5, but I have never been in control, can I have sex a few weeks later? Or what are the effects?
Thank you for the question.
IUD (intrauterine device) or often called a spiral KB is a special device that is inserted into the uterus and is useful to prevent pregnancy because of mechanical and hormonal effects. After undergoing an IUD, the doctor will generally advise you to control a few weeks later (generally 1-2 weeks). The aim is to ensure that the IUD stays in its place and does not shift. Because, shifting the IUD can certainly cause the effectiveness of its work decreases, so you risk getting pregnant. Not only that, the shifting IUD can also injure other surrounding organs, even triggering pelvic inflammation.
Therefore, before undergoing post-IUD control, you should not have sexual relations that involve penetration and ejaculation in the vagina. If you also want to have sex, do ejaculation outside the vagina, or use additional contraceptive methods, such as condoms. Do not forget, while you can, immediately control your IUD to the doctor or obstetrician as early as possible before dangerous complications occur.
Hope this helps ...
