Animal Scratches On The Face?
hello, I just got scratched by my pet cat, happened to cause a little injury (not much). can it be treated using drugs such as betadine? and whether the drug can treat acne too (as I accidentally read on the internet)?
Hello Roseline, thanks for asking.
When experiencing animal scratches, the first thing to do is wash the wound immediately, even if the wound is only a scratch. Wash the wound under running water for several minutes until it is completely clean. Then with clean gauze, apply the antiseptic liquid as you mentioned. Wounds that are not deep do not need to be bandaged, but must be maintained so as not to get dirty from dust and other impurities.
So far there has been no scientific research that proves that topical antiseptics can treat acne. Indeed, some types of acne are caused by bacteria, but generally bacteria are located in the hair follicles (pores) so they must be treated with the type of treatment that seeps into the skin.
Another thing you should pay attention to is whether your pet has been routinely getting vaccinated, including rabies vaccination. You should always be aware of the danger of rabies, even if the injury is caused by pets. If you are not sure, you can go to the hospital to get serum and anti-rabies vaccine.
That is my answer. May be useful. Regards.
