Are There Any Negative Effects Because Of Late Releasing The IUD KB?
The night my doctor was dila, I gave birth to my son 22nd nov 2014 and I was advised to put in a Kb IUD from the installation until now I have never checked the plan for 1 month before I intend to open it because it is past time. My question is, is there any effect on my IUD KB, it’s a matter of 2 months. And the opening time is during menstruation / no yes Thank you good night
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
First of all, I want to confirm first, is the IUD that you are using a type of IUD that contains a hormone or a copper IUD?
IUDs that contain hormones can be used for a period of 5 years to help prevent pregnancy, while copper IUDs can be used for a period of 10 years. This time period is the recommended time period and is listed in the package, but in reality itself (based on studies conducted as well), IUDs containing hormones are still effective for use for up to 7 years and copper IUDs are still effective for use for up to 12 years. Therefore, if you do use an IUD that contains hormones and it is only 2 months from the time you should remove and replace your IUD, then nothing will happen (you will still be protected from pregnancy). However, you are still advised to follow the recommendations given and replace your IUD according to the specified time (5 years for hormonal IUDs and 10 years for copper IUDs). Consult your obstetrician for replacement of your IUD.
The removal of an IUD can be done at any time, either during menstruation or when not menstruating, but the removal (and reinstallation) will be easier to do when you are menstruating.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
