At What Size Should Ovarian Cysts Be Operated?
I want to ask if an ovarian cyst has reached 5cmx3cm in size, is that dangerous? or can still be removed? or need surgery?
Ovarian cyst is a condition of fluid-filled sac that grows in the ovary / ovary. Cysts often do not cause symptoms but if they are large enough, they can cause complaints in the form of menstrual cycle disorders, discomfort in the abdomen and pelvis, disorders of urination and large, flatulence, and sometimes dizziness and nausea.
Cyst examination is by ultrasound and blood tests if necessary. Cyst treatment will be adjusted to the patient's condition. In general, if it does not cause complaints and is small in size, the doctor can make regular observations only periodically and sometimes the doctor also gives hormone drugs.
However, if the cyst is large enough for more than 5 cm, covers the entire ovary and fallopian tube, is at risk of rupture, suspected malignancy, or if it causes a disturbing complaint, the doctor may consider surgery options for treating the cyst.
To ensure your condition and the best treatment that can be done, I suggest that you consult again with your obstetrician. The doctor will consider whether surgery or observation is necessary in accordance with the results of your examination. You should follow the advice of the doctor who checked it.
Hope it helps you,
