Babies Aged 2 Months Have 3 Weeks Of Frequent And Watery Bowel Movements?
Good evening. R n My son is 2 months old. It’s been 3 weeks the chapters are frequent and watery. I checked with dr. SPA then was given Daryazinc and l-bio. I have taken zinc once a day for up to 10 consecutive days and bio l once a day but the chapter is still the same. Is this normal? Diarrhea or not? But instead he continued to gain weight.
Hello Dini, Thank you for the question.
Is your baby breastfeeding or formula milk? Babies who are exclusively breastfed can CHAPTER 5 or more times a day and the consistency is even more fluid. Babies can even defecate every time a diaper is changed. But there are also babies who are exclusively breastfed with infrequent bowel movements but more volume of stool. Therefore it is necessary to distinguish whether this symptom is caused by diarrhea or something that is still classified as normal. Diarrhea in babies can be caused by intestinal infections, lactose intolerance, cow's milk allergy (if your baby has been given formula milk). If this complaint persists after administering zinc and lactobacillu, please return to consult with your pediatrician. The doctor needs to go back to ask about other conditions and symptoms that your child is experiencing. The doctor may recommend further tests such as blood tests or stool examination before determining further treatment.
As long as your baby is still willing to breastfeed, is not fussy, has normal BAK frequency, and has not lost weight, there is nothing for you to worry too much about right now. However, you really have to make sure the doctor through the examination whether this condition is still a noaml.
