1 Answer:

Hello Rainbow Mother Leker,

A one-month-old baby still can't focus further than 8-12 inches or 20-30 cm, but he can already see your face if you bring your face closer. The contrasting black-and-white color began to catch his attention. His hearing is perfect, and can hear and recognize your voice, face and touch.

A one-month-old baby can lift his head slightly and tilt it when you lie down, but can't lift his head when lying down. His hands move erratically, but he can bring his hand to his mouth.

Your role for your baby's stimulation:

Hug, talk to him, learn to recognize your baby, attentive and responsive to hunger or sleep signals.
Doing "tummy time" i.e. lying face down for 3-5 minutes to train the baby's muscle strength. Make sure to do it when you are not sleepy and not new to breastfeeding.
Playing simple games like "peek-a-boo" or imitating the sound
Eye contact with your baby when talking or singing

You need to be careful if your baby doesn't squint or close his eyes in bright light, for example when you hang out/take him out of the house, isn't surprised when there's a loud noise or seems inactive and doesn't want to breastfeed. If there are these symptoms, immediately see a doctor.
