Baby’s Knee Bones Always Ring?
my child is 4 months old. When I pulled his legs to pair the pampers, there was a creaking sound on his knee. Is that dangerous? After I tried to massage his knees but he didn’t cry. I moved her legs straight and bent and she didn’t cry either. What do you do?
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
Basically, when joints are moved, joints can indeed make certain sounds. Kretek sound (cracking) as heard from the knee joint can arise due to cavitation. Cavitation is the formation of an air bubble between the joints when the joint is stretched, and when the joint returns to its original state, these air bubbles will be compressed and burst making a sound like you hear it.
The sound is normal and should not be worried as long as there are no other symptoms that accompany it. If certain symptoms occur, such as red and swollen joints, the baby is seen crying and fussing due to pain, there is movement disturbance (one leg does not move like the other leg), then you need to immediately take your child to the pediatrician to get further examination.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
