Baby’s Skin Is Like Zits And Pus?
Morning, my child is only 7 days old. On the second day of birth, red spots began to appear on his face. Then more and more spread to the neck, elbow folds, and head. but over time the red spots turn white and fester. Even in the whole head. why is that?
Good evening, thanks for the question
The symptoms you mentioned above may be a condition of baby acne. Baby acne is a common condition which can appear on the baby's face and body area. Skin symptoms include small reddish or white nodules. In most cases baby acne does not require special treatment and can recover spontaneously.
Acne usually occurs at the age of 2-4 weeks where symptoms can persist for several weeks. The cause is not yet known with certainty but it is possible due to the mother or baby's hormones themselves.
Do not use any cream on these skin disorders because the baby's skin is still very sensitive. The act of providing topical treatment can actually exacerbate existing complaints.
Other conditions that have symptoms similar to baby acne are:
1. Atopic dermatitis (eczema)
2. Milia (prickly heat)
3. Erythema toxic (red rash on face, arms, chest in newborns)
Some things you can do to relieve symptoms include:
1. Routinely clean your face with a towel and warm water
2. Avoid using creams or lotions on the face area
3. Don't use soap products and the like that contain detergents and fragrances
4. Don't squeeze baby zits
5. Be patient because most symptoms will spontaneously recover
If your baby's acne complaints do not decrease in a matter of a few months, you should do an examination with a pediatrician for further treatment.
That's all, hope you can help
