,rnrnI want to ask a question, Today (8/2/18) I found that my vagina had black blood like menstrual blood but no smell at all, in fact it had a slightly sweet (smooth) smellrnr I’m confused, even though I just got my period on January 23, but at that time, it seemed that my menses had not finished until 7 days, about 4 days were over. Incidentally, my cycle is always 28 days. So if I count from the end of January 29 to February 8, it’s only been 2 weeks, while if the cycle is 28 days I just got it again on February 26th. which should be 7 days to 3 days. Is that true? Is it worth it? I just experienced this for the first time. And why can this happen.rnrnThanks for the explanation doctor.rnrnGreetingsrnOlin

Hi Beatrice,

The normal menstrual cycle is 21-35 days with a menstrual period of about 2-7 days and a menstrual blood volume of 30-40 ml or changing pads less than 6x/day. The presence of bleeding outside the menstrual cycle can occur in the following conditions:

Ovulation Signs of attachment of the embryo to the uterine wall in very early pregnancy Side effects of contraceptives used Post-sex bleeding Polycystic ovary syndrome Infection of the pelvic organs Pelvic inflammation Fibroids, polyps, and malignancies Psychological stress and physical fatigue from strenuous activity Thyroid disease and diabetes Associated With the color of blood, vaginal blood that is black in color is often caused because the blood has been in the body longer before it is excreted and usually occurs at the end of menstruation. This condition is generally normal if it occurs only occasionally and without other complaints.

For now, you don't have to worry about it. You can do the following tips:

Get enough rest Regular light exercise Manage stress well Get used to a healthy lifestyle Try not to get tired Avoid sex while it's still bleeding Keep your sex organs clean If the bleeding doesn't stop within 7 days or is accompanied by unusual pain, or if this happens regularly If it is repeated, you should check directly with your obstetrician so that further examination can be carried out to determine the cause of your complaint so that you can be given the right treatment by the doctor.
