Black Lines Appear On The Finger Nails?
Good afternoon, I want to ask. So, about 10 months ago on the index finger of the right hand a black gray line appeared. After that my friend said it could be a sign of melanoma. Then I read about melanoma. And a few days ago on my right leg there was a mole that I scratched and accidentally peeled off and bled (not swiftly). Does this include melanoma? Small black mole.
Hello. Good afternoon. Thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.
Melanoma skin cancer is a type of cancer that develops in melanocytes, skin pigment cells that function as melanin-producing. The appearance of new moles or changes in existing moles are usually a common sign or symptom of melanoma.
With the ABCDE list, we can distinguish normal moles from melanomas. The ABCDE list is:
A (asymmetrical) asymmetric: melanoma has an irregular shape and cannot be divided equally
B (border) periphery: melanoma has uneven and rough edges, in contrast to normal moles
C (color) color: melanoma is usually a mixture of two or three colors
D (diameter) diameter: melanomas are usually larger than 6 millimeters in diameter, and are different from ordinary moles
E (enlargement or evolution) enlargement or evolution: moles that change shape and size after a while will usually become melanoma
We recommend that you consult a doctor if you experience the symptoms above. If you experience suspicion in that direction the doctor will refer to see a dermatologist or plastic surgeon if the examination leads to melanoma.
That's the thing we can say. Thank you
