Black Stool Color At 24 Weeks Pregnant?
Good night. I am currently 24 weeks pregnant. I was given iron and calcium supplements to take every day. It’s just that 2 times my stool is very old, close to black. Then at one end it is slightly white.rnrnWhen the first bowel movement is just a kind of membrane (not mucus, more like a spider’s web) white at one end, with the main color of the stool being very dark brown. And the second CHAPTER, the white color at one end is getting clearer, not in the form of a net, with the main color of the feces getting darker. Of the two stools, only one has a slightly white tip, while the others are all blackish.rnrnIs that normal,? I do not feel any complaints such as stomach pain or ulcers. Thank you.
Black stool is one of the side effects of consuming iron supplements. This is normal in someone who takes iron supplements, including pregnant women, children or in people with red blood deficiency or anemia. In addition, patients who consume bismuth salicylate or black licoride can also cause black stools.
However, if you do have a history of heartburn or stomach pain, it could be caused by bleeding from the digestive organs. If so, you can consult a doctor for further evaluation. If not, you don't have to worry too much.
I hope this helps.
