Morning, I want to ask. I had used a blackheads removal product that had a balm texture. After almost 2 weeks of using the product small pimples and pimples appeared in almost all areas that I applied the balm (I used almost all over my face). Is that product the cause of my acne?

1 Answer:

Hello Grandson Yuni,

Blackheads are one of the initial forms of acne in the form of black spots on the pores of the skin. Blackheads are formed due to accumulation of dead skin cells and oil on the skin hair follicles. Some risk factors that increase the formation of blackheads include:

Hormonal changes that cause excessive oil production in the skin
Increasing the number of bacteria on the skin
Dry skin
Take certain medicines like steroids
The use of certain chemical products including hair gel, hair dye
Hair follicle irritation
Consumption of foods that contain high fat or dairy products
Side effects of skin care measures such as chemical peels
and so forth

Solid products and thicker consistency are usually not very suitable for acne-prone skin types. Inappropriate use will usually leave the remaining products which then clog skin pores and trigger blackheads. The recommended product form is gel, liquid lotion, liquid serum. Avoid products that contain chemical fragrances and ingredients that can make the skin dry such as lime, menthol, alcohol, and the like because it will actually trigger the production of oil by the skin even more.

Skin care products that are recommended for acne prone skin include salicylic acid (BHA) and benzoyl peroxide, both of these ingredients provide benefits in mild to moderate acne. Always use sunscreen every day to avoid further skin damage due to UV exposure. Various kinds of skin care would be suitable for each person. If you really have sensitive skin, you can choose skin care with a small size and try in the lower jaw near the ear or certain areas of the face to see the skin's response to use. If you experience irritation or breakout after use, you should first stop using the skin care. You can more fully consult and find out information about acne and proper skin care from a dermatologist.

Thus the explanation from me, may be useful.
