Postoperative bleeding is something that can happen to any surgery. The cause can be from the stitches that are not tight enough, the blood vessels that have not been tied, excessive movement of the surgery scar, trauma to the surgery scar, or other causes. Things to watch out for in postoperative bleeding are the amount of blood that comes out, the duration of bleeding cessation, pain, the wound turns red, the wound becomes pus, and so on. Therefore, patients who have undergone surgery are advised to see a doctor. The doctor will conduct an examination of the surgical scar, to see if the wound healing process is going well or not. Wounds that don't heal properly can cause infection. Signs of infection that can be seen include pain in the wound, the skin around the wound is red, the wound feels hot, the wound becomes pus, and so on.
Some suggestions that can be done in the meantime include:
Eat nutritious foods, especially those high in protein, such as meat. Protein plays a role in helping cell healing. Avoid movements that can stretch the surgical scar. Avoid applying substances or drugs to the surgical wound without a doctor's approval. If bleeding occurs, the first aid is to press the wound with sterile gauze. This gauze acts as a temporary tampon to prevent further bleeding.
If the complaint you feel is even more annoying, for example bleeding that doesn't stop even though you have tried a pressure dressing, it's a good idea to immediately visit the doctor to get the right treatment.
This is the information we can convey, thank you and hope it is useful.
