Bleeding After Massaging The Abdominal Area?
I want to ask if I gave birth, then after 5 days of giving birth I was massaged, my peranakan was like it was over, I was ordered by my in-laws and my husband to be massaged too and since the massage, how come more and more blood came out, right? Is this normal or not?
When did you give birth? Has it been more than 6 weeks? The postpartum period generally lasts 2-6 weeks. The first puerperal blood will be red and then gradually dark brown, pink, light brown, yellowish, and at the end of the puerperium it will be like spots or whitish until it finally stops.
If it's been more than 6 weeks the puerperal blood still comes out and is still red blood, then your postpartum period is prolonged. Prolonged postpartum period can be influenced by several factors as follows:
Psychological stress and physical fatigue Hormonal still unstable after giving birth Effect of contraceptive used Poor contraction of uterus There is remnants of placenta in uterus Trauma to uterus Presence of infection in the vagina or uterus Actually massaging the abdomen that is too hard is not recommended. Massaging too hard is feared to create trauma or injury to the abdomen. Therefore, massage in postpartum mothers should only be carried out by a certified therapist to minimize the risk of trauma / injury.
Have you been to the obstetrician and ultrasound after giving birth? If yes, how is the condition of your uterus? If you are currently more than 6 weeks into labor but the bleeding is still profuse, I suggest that you check back with your obstetrician so that further examination can be done, including ultrasound to determine the condition of your uterus and find out the cause of the prolonged postpartum period. If the cause is known, then you can be given further treatment by a gynecologist.
