Blood In The Eye?
3 days ago I went to the Hamdah clinic in Makassar, I was short of breath so I was in Gurah. so when I poured it out I vomited and coughed hard so my eyes were swollen and red, the next day I looked in the mirror that there was blood on the side of the right eye. can the blood be lost? I am very worried, thank you
Hello Setiyadi, thank you for the question for HealthReplies.com
Blood in the whites of the eye may be caused by subconjunctival bleeding. Subconjunctival bleeding is very common when a person coughs, sneezes, vomits, or strains too hard, and when people lift objects that are too heavy. Other, less frequent causes include bleeding disorders and the use of certain drugs.
In most cases, subconjunctival bleeding does not cause any symptoms and will not cause certain long-term side effects. This bleeding will disappear on its own without certain therapy within 1-2 weeks. There are no specific therapies recommended that can speed up the healing process.
If you experience certain symptoms in your eye, for example if blood comes out of your eye, there is visual disturbance, there is pain in your eye, redness in your eye does not disappear after 2 weeks or it gets bigger, you should immediately see an eye doctor.
So much information from me, hopefully it will be enough to answer
