Bluish Under The Nail Accompanied By Swelling After Impact?
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
Basically the bluish color under your nails is caused by rupture of blood vessels under the nails. If the bluish is wide enough (up to more than half of your nails are bluish), the nails will usually come off in a few days. If it is not too broad, then the bluish will disappear by itself after your nails grow (can take very long to months). Nails that change color to ivory white may be caused by your nails being detached from the nail bed (must be confirmed again by looking directly).
In general, you do not need antibiotic therapy to deal with impacted nails (unless based on a doctor's examination it is proven to occur under the nail infection). You may take painkillers (such as paracetamol for example) to help reduce the pain that you experience if the pain is very annoying. If indeed your finger is very painful, looks increasingly swollen, and looks red, you should see a doctor for further examination and management.
For now, it's best to reduce the impact on your nails when you work. You can put a band-aid over your nails so that the nails are more stable and don't shake a lot when you are hit while working. Doing this can help reduce pain in the nails due to collisions.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
