Blurry Vision When Viewing Long Distances?
Tonight, I want to ask if my eye minus is bad? I have realized from last year but I didn’t dare to check up, but lately I feel my vision is getting blurry. About less than 10 meters away I could not clearly see the face of the crowd in front of me.
Hello Dian, thank you for the question for HealthReplies.com
Vision problems can be caused by many things. The most common cause of visual disturbances is refractive error. Refractive disorders can be divided into 3:
Nearsightedness or what is also called myopia or minus eye
Farsightedness or what is also called hypermetropia or plus eye
Astigmatism or what is also called a cylinder eye
Other causes of visual disturbances that are not accompanied by red eyes include:
diabetic or hypertensive retinopathy
compression or compression of the visual nerve in the eye (this could be due to a tumor in the eye or in the brain)
drug side effects
If you feel your vision is getting blurry, you should immediately consult an eye doctor. Visual disturbances (even if only caused by refractive errors) can still interfere with your daily activities, especially if you have to drive. Driving with blurry eyes without correction can increase the risk of an accident. If it is only caused by refractive errors, the doctor will only prescribe glasses or contact lenses that you can use everyday. If there are indeed other disorders in the eye, the doctor will be able to quickly diagnose it and take medication or preventive measures so that the condition does not worsen.
You should not be afraid to check. Delaying testing can actually have a worse effect if the cause of your current blindness is a disease that can cause progressive damage (eg glaucoma or retinopathy).
So much information from me, hopefully it will be enough to answer
