Brown Spots Around The Fingers?
Good afternoon. I am Tyas 22 years old. I want to ask, suddenly around my finger brown spots appear and some even form slightly wider and elongated. I initially thought of being allergic to one of the laundry detergents. But when I stopped using the laundry soap the spots did not disappear. Maybe it can help explain about what causes it and how to prevent it. Thank you:)
The appearance of brown spots on the skin is often caused by hyperpigmentation of the skin due to various things such as skin irritation, physical trauma, excessive sun exposure or certain medical conditions, for example allergies or infections.
Hyperpigmentation is not dangerous but can interfere with appearance, however you should be aware that if the spots continue to expand, accompanied by injuries, and there is a change in the shape of the skin, consult your doctor immediately if the complaint arises to ensure there are other possible causes of your complaint such as fungal infections, dermatitis or malignancy.
Your doctor will ask for a history of your complaints, do a physical exam or skin scraping. If the complaint is indeed caused by hyperpigmentation, the doctor may prescribe kojic ointment or tretinoin to treat the spots that arise. Your doctor can also recommend a laser procedure if deemed necessary.
To prevent the condition from returning or worsening, you should avoid everything that is suspected of causing complaints and limit sun exposure. You should also not scratch or rub the part of the body complained of to prevent irritation from continuing.
