Brown Spots At The Beginning Of Menstruation?

at night. I’ve been menstruating for 1 week or (8 days) but during that 1 week my period didn’t bleed but only brown spots. And after the 9th day, I started to bleed. I’ve never experienced that before, usually when I want to menstruate for 2 days, I have spotting and then on the 3rd day I immediately bleed.. Why is that and what causes it? And how do I keep my periods smooth and normal? thank you

Good Morning Nathasya,
Thanks for the question.
Menstruation is a woman's natural cycle where there is a process of shedding of the uterine wall every 21-35 days with signs of bleeding through the vagina for 3-7 days with an average blood volume of about 3 tablespoons a day. If the menstrual pattern does not match this explanation, then it is necessary to be careful. It is also important to pay attention to whether the current period you are experiencing is still in accordance with the regular monthly menstrual schedule, or the bleeding occurs outside the schedule. When vaginal bleeding occurs outside of the menstrual cycle, this condition is known as metrorrhagia. Mark it on your calendar every time you get your period so you can know if you have a regular menstrual cycle or not.
