Lump on the lips has several possible causes, including:
Mucocele due to blockage of the salivary ducts either due to trauma such as being bitten or punctured, poor dental hygiene, perforated or sharp teeth and also due to the use of braces
Viral infections such as herpes
Allergic reaction
Cysts or sacs filled with fluid
In the mucocele itself, the lump usually disappears on its own or if it does not improve, it is necessary to take action to remove the lump either by surgery, cryotherapy or the use of laser. In addition, doctors can administer drugs such as steroid injections in the mucocele.
Strive to maintain the cleanliness of the teeth and oral cavity and check the condition of the teeth at the dentist at least every 6 months to prevent tooth decay and potential health problems that can be caused by bad teeth and oral cavity.
