Can Babies Aged 9 Months Consume Formula Milk.?
Greetings ,, my niece is now entering the age of 9 months, is it good to continue giving sufor similac neosure for LBW even though my niece is not LBW? Already tried all the brands of the baby still choose the milk powder, giving milk as well as breastfeeding,
Thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.
In fact, there is no requirement for 9-month-old babies to consume formula milk. If the mother is still able to provide enough milk for her baby, formula feeding is no longer needed. Formula milk should only be given in urgent conditions, for example:
Mother died, while the right breastfeeding donor has not been found
The mother is seriously ill, or has other illnesses that prevent her from breastfeeding the baby, while the right breastfeeding donor has not been found
Infants have not been able to suckle properly (as in LBW infants, premature, or cleft, while the mother's milk production is not much, and so on
If your niece currently has a good weight according to her age standard (9 months old, a normal baby boy weighs around 8-10 kg, while a baby girl is around 7.2-9.4 kg), there is no need to bother thinking about giving the right formula milk. Simply give the baby breast milk, water, and variations of MPASI that are healthy and nutritious to meet the nutritional needs. Do not forget, control is always the baby's growth and development to the doctor or pediatrician so that if there is interference, can be immediately given the right treatment.
Hope this helps ...
