Can Be Cured Completely From Behcet?
Good night, my wife’s doc has behcet syndrome or can be said to be autoimmune, so my question is whether my wife can recover completely from behcet’s syndrome?
Good evening, thanks for the question
Behcet's disease is an autoimmune disease that is rarely found. This condition causes damage to blood vessels that give symptoms including mouth ulcers, skin rashes, sores in genitalia, joint inflammation, vision problems, digestive disorders, and so forth. The severity of this disease can vary from one individual to another.
Behcet's disease is a chronic disease. Symptoms can be a recurrence in which there is a period of symptoms will subside (remission), then can reappear after a time (relapse).
There is no specific treatment for this case. However, the above symptoms and other signs of chronic inflammation can be overcome by administering drugs and lifestyle changes.
Individuals with Behcet's disease do not cause a decrease in life expectancy, but the most important thing is to treat symptoms, maintain general health and be physically active when in a condition of remission.
Patients and families also need to be more proactive in improving patient health and continue to communicate with doctors to treat symptoms and reduce the risk of relapse of symptoms. A complete recovery from this autoimmune disease may be difficult, but at least the quality of life of the patient improves and does not often experience symptoms of relapse.
That's all, hope you can help. Wassalam.
