Can Blood Donors Cause Weight Loss?
Good night,. I want to ask. Can blood donors cause weight loss?
Hello Almeyda Pradana,
Blood donation is a voluntary act of donating blood to other people. Before a person donates blood he must fulfill the following conditions:
17-60 years old
Minimum weight of 45 kg
Maximum systolic blood pressure is 180 mmHg and diastole is 100 mmHg and the lower limit is 90/50 mmHg
Hemoglobin levels 12.5-17 g / dL
Regular pulse rate between 50-100 times per minute
Approve blood donor requirements
Some conditions that are prohibited for blood donors are suffering from hepatitis, HIV / AIDS, syphillis, within 6 months after tattoos or piercings, within 6 months after getting a blood transfusion, suffering from epilepsy and often seizures, suffering from bleeding disorders. Once people donate, 450-500 cc of blood can burn more or less 650 kcal. So it can also make weight loss if calorie intake is not enough. Other benefits of blood donors are maintaining heart health, increasing red blood cell production, detecting diseases (HIV, hepatitis, syphilis).
Thus the explanation from me, may be useful.
