Many mothers who want to regain their bodies immediately after giving birth. However, it should be noted that a nursing mother requires more energy / daily calories than women who do not breastfeed. Nursing mothers should consume balanced nutritional foods which consist of carbohydrate-rich foods such as rice, various vegetables and fruits, foods that contain protein, and also milk. Types of food and medicines consumed during breastfeeding need to be considered because they can be transferred through breast milk .


Lime is rich in vitamin C and is safe for consumption by nursing mothers. Although excessive consumption can cause a lot of excreted with breast milk and cause complaints of diarrhea in infants and discomfort in the baby's stomach.


Lemongrass leaves have various properties such as antibacterial, antioxidant, to be used as aromatherapy. However, there has not been enough medical research on the safety of consumption of lemongrass leaves when breastfeeding. In pregnant women, large doses of lemongrass leaves are thought to trigger menstruation and cause miscarriage. Therefore for consumption of lemongrass leaves should be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding.


Green tea contains caffeine in much lower amounts than coffee. Only 1% of caffeine consumed by mothers is excreted in breast milk. The limit of caffeine that can be consumed is 300 mg. Green tea is safe for consumption during breastfeeding as long as the amount is only 1-3 cups a day. The effect of caffeine that can be observed in children is that children become fussy, do not want to sleep.


When consuming a new food, you can start with a small amount first then observe the changes that occur in the baby. If a complaint appears or the baby becomes ill, stop consuming these foods for a while and observe the changes in the baby.
