I am still breastfeeding and am planning to undergo wisdom teeth surgery, but what about the consumption of post-operative pain killers, allowed or not?

1 Answer:

Hello Felisa, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com

There are various types of pain killers, some are safe for breastfeeding mothers, some are not yet known with certainty the level of safety. In general, over-the-counter painkillers such as Paracetamol are very safe for consumption. Other painter drugs that are known to be quite safe for breastfeeding mothers to consume are Ibuprofen and Diclofenac (must be prescribed by a doctor).

You can tell your dentist that you are breastfeeding so that your dentist can prescribe a pain medication that is safe for you to consume in the current breastfeeding condition.

So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
