Can Corona Virus Be Spread By Mosquito Bites?
Good evening Doc.
Hello Windu, thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com.
Based on data and research available to date regarding the spread and also the nature of the Corona virus that causes COVID-19, this virus cannot be spread by mosquito bites even though the mosquito has sucked blood from a COVID-19 sufferer because mosquitoes are not a suitable intermediary for the virus. so that the virus can not develop well and move from mosquitoes to humans, unlike in dengue fever, chikungunya, malaria or elephantiasis.
Methods of transmission confirmed to date by WHO and the CDC are:
Through contact between mouth, nose or eyes with splashes of saliva / phlegm / sneezing positive patients COVID-19
Through contact with mouth / nose / eyes after contact with objects that have surfaces on the surface of the corona virus
Through the feces of patients, although the transmission rate is quite low and is not the main cause of the current pandemic
In the meantime, keep abreast of government directives to remain at home and work from home. If you want to contact with other people, give a minimum distance of 1 meter from that person. Maintain body immunity by eating nutritious foods, increasing vegetable and fruit intake, doing regular exercise at least 30 minutes a day, maintaining a fluid intake of at least 2 liters a day, resting at least 6-8 hours a day, stressful days and avoid smoking.
If there are complaints of cough, runny nose, sore throat, fever (body temperature 38 degrees or more), shortness of breath, had contact with confirmed patients with COVID-19 or traveled to areas / countries where COVID-19 patients are currently present in the last 2 weeks, immediately see a doctor or report to the Ministry of Health hotline to get directions on what you should do.
I hope this helps.
