Can DHF History Affect The Results Of MCU?
I want to ask, one year ago I was infected with dengue until hospitalization, then if now I have a medical check-up, then there is a blood test, will it be found out if I have ever had DHF?
Hello Galihnadia, thank you for asking on the HealthReplies.com forum.
Normally, if someone is infected with Dengue virus (the virus that causes DHF), the body will form two kinds of immune system (antibodies), namely antibodies that are temporary which generally will last up to 90 days after infection and also endurance that can last a long time for almost a lifetime. Both of these antibodies can be examined to help distinguish whether a person is currently experiencing DHF or has had DHF.
In your case, because you have experienced DHF about 1 year ago, if during a medical check-up you are asked to do an antibody examination for DHF, then of course these long-lasting antibodies will give positive results indicating that you have experienced the disease so that the history of the disease will be known. But it should also be noted that in addition to examining specific antibodies against DHF, until now there has been no other examination that can describe the history of this disease.
I hope this helps.
