Can Drugs Still Be Close To The Expiry Date?
I have a flamicort injection for keloids. But the medicine from 2015 I put it in the refrigerator .. I saw exp 1212 2018 what now can still be used
Good morning, thanks for the question
Drugs that are nearing the expiration date may be no longer effective when used, where the specifications are no longer the same as the initial production. This can occur due to non-standard storage of drugs and direct exposure to sunlight. The drug will experience degradation and hydrolysis, as well as contamination if the drug has been used before.
In general, the way to store injection type drugs is to avoid direct exposure to sunlight and store at temperatures below 25 degrees Celsius. The way of storage can also be different because of the nature of the active substance in the drug. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if in doubt about the condition of the medicine you have.
That's all, hope you can help
