Can Eye Floaters Disappear?
Assalamualaikim .., sorry I want to ask .., with eye floaters, how many days ago my left eye had a hard impact because of a motorcycle accident my eye collided with a motorcycle handlebar …, no one was injured in the area before my eyes …, but after that suddenly appeared lines and black dots in my eyes that followed the direction of my view (floaters) I had been to the doctor in my town and given retivit plus the same drops of vitrolenta. But after …, which became my question .., whether the floater that I experienced can be lost …? And why do sometimes the floaters in my eyes change shape …, instead of increasing and decreasing …? I’m a little stressed by the state of my eyes … please advise …, Thank you …,
Hello Erwin, Thank you for the question.
Floaters are black shadows with various shapes (can be spots, threads, rings, etc.) that float in the eye. Floaters will be more visible when someone sees bright light or sees an area with a white back lata for too long. Floaters can also change shape and this is a natural thing.
The back of the lens of the eye is formed by a liquid shaped like a gel that functions to maintain the shape of the eye. This fluid is called vitreous. As you age, the protein in vitreous will coagulate. The light that enters the eye and hits these clumping proteins is seen as floaters. Apart from aging, floaters can also occur due to eye injury, farsightedness, eye infections, eye inflammation, diabetes complications, retinal tears, tumors in the eye, or migraines.
In general, floaters can disappear by themselves. However, if the floaters multiply and obstruct vision, there are some treatments recommended by doctors that can be laser therapy or vitrectomy.
Please continue your treatment recommended by the doctor. If this complaint is still disturbing or you are still worrying about this condition, please check with your ophthalmologist, yes.
Hopefully this information is useful.
