Can I Take Cold Medicine 2 Days Before Donating Blood?
Good morning, I want to ask about blood donation. 2 days ago before I donated blood, I took Bodrex medicine because I have the flu, but today I am cured and I am going to do blood donation, can I still donate?
Good afternoon. Thank you for asking HealthReplies.com
Blood donation is giving blood to other people or institutions that usually have several conditions, i.e.
Age around 17 to 60 years
Blood pressure less than 160 per 100
Does not have heart, lung, infection
Not currently taking certain drugs
As well as several other conditions that can be read further in the following article
Regarding drug consumption, the drug consumed has a half-life, which is the time when the drug will disappear from the body in part. For drugs that you consume have active substances which generally have a half-life of about 8 hours so it is assumed that in 16 to 24 hours the drug is no longer in the blood. Seeing this there is actually no obstacle for you to do blood donation, but you should still convey your condition when you will donate blood so that it can be done in advance by health workers about other eligibility to meet blood donor requirements.
Thus the information that I can convey. May be useful
