Can Olive Oil Be Used To Get Rid Of Chicken Pox?
Want to ask if olive oil can remove chickenpox scars?
Hello Pique Gerrard,
Olive oil has antioxidant properties in addition to being available in a consumable form, olive oil also has properties for hair and skin. Some of the effects of olive oil on the skin are:
Antioxidant effect: the oxidation process in the body can produce free radicals which can cause damage to body cells including the skin so the skin ages faster or abnormal growth on the skin (which can become malignancy / cancer). Olive oil has an antioxidant effect that can help ward off the effects of these free radicals. Olive oil also contains many vitamins which act as antioxidants as well
Antibacterial effect: can help control the number of skin bacterial colonies
Every wound including inflammation of the skin can cause scars that can differ in color from the surrounding normal skin or form elevated scar tissue. The scar will generally fade on its own over time. Some studies show olive oil has benefits to help scars fade and help regulate skin. But several studies of the use of olive oil for stretch marks have given mixed results - inconsistently useful as well as studies of the benefits of olive oil for scars.
Generally, the treatment of scars using topical medications or other ingredients that are applied can not result in an instant change in skin color. Other treatments such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and laser therapy can be done by a dermatologist to help get rid of scars faster. Thus the explanation from me, hopefully useful.
