Can Pregnant Women Take Anti-sickness Medication While Traveling Long Distances?
I want to ask, I am currently 4 months pregnant. and will travel far. can i take antimo?
Hi Yuya. Antimo which contains dimenhydrinate is an antihistamine class drug that can indeed help in cases of motion sickness. Its use in pregnancy itself according to the US FDA said that the use in pregnant women has not known the risks because there is not enough research while in animals there is no risk whatsoever. In addition, the use of this drug itself still requires a doctor's supervision because it has side effects such as drowsiness, changes in consciousness, dizziness and blurred vision.
Consult with your doctor about the condition you are experiencing for further treatment where the doctor will first assess your pregnancy and your clinical condition so that they can consider the right treatment for you. Hopefully helpful, and thank you. Regards, Dr Alyssa
